Battle build has three variants: autobolter, pure melee, and hybrid. Your killing potential in PvP/PKing is determined by your chosen variant, but more often than not the autobolters are more proficient at killing.

Pure melee is strictly pvm based on my previous observations.

Autobolter and hybrid (the latter being my personal build) can kill in PvP. It all depends on your tactics.

Elemental Confusion

Element Change your weapon to any property

Use Bolt #1 for your free cast

Use Bolt #2 for your auto cast

Works like a charm. or does it?

Haha I abuse this. But I would do things differently:

1. Act like a firebolter: KEEP casting FB, go for Fiber Lock, and try to SC enemy as much as possible. Slow casting time and slow moving speed would be motivation enough for an enemy to go near. Expectations: opponent is wearing Pasana armor as he enters melee range. An unexpected scenario is the opponent wearing Swordfish armor.

2. Stop running and immediately assault opponents with CB and LB using both autocast and precast; whichever spell used is up to preference. 25% autobolt chance + double bolt = great damage! Throwing in Sage Spirit will make things even more devastating!

This attack is enough to kill the opponent already because:
a. Every time I hit enemy, s/he could be inflicted with stun/silence/bleeding/poison/blind (in random) or be subjected to a status effect that will bring hp and sp to 1 and 0. Applying IC's theory, autobolts also induce these status effects. Every time I hit enemy, there's a 5% chance of autocasting FD 3 (which can freeze opponent and thus allowing me to deal increased physical damage) and Lex Aterna, which will double the damage of any of the succeeding attacks: precast, auto-FD, autobolt, recurred precast (through DB), and recurred autocast (through DB)
c. Every time I get hit by enemy by physical attacks...

- 30% chance of petrifying enemy unless s/he is wearing Deadly armor or Medusa Shield
- 25% chance to bring down an autobolt on opponents. Applying IC's theory, opponent could receive the status effects that way.

P.S. I have Jupitel Thunder LV 3 on the ready, Lex Aeterna when I'm in a place that makes knockbacks work, Frost joke when I run out of Frost Diver LV 5 scrolls. (Where do you get Frost Diver LV 5 scrolls). I just know where to buy LV 5 Fire Wall Scrolls.)

Those are rather good strategies, although I do not like the use of JT due to knockbacks...but that could be useful. Anyway, FD scrolls come from Garm Baby.

Am I more powerful now with Blaine? Teach me how to defeat the characters using my build.... and maybe i can add more.... if Blaine is my partner....

You are more powerful than Blaine, and your lack of defense is compensated by his presence should he be fighting with you. If you two had Mind Breaker 5, it would've been great. MB 5 is the best "buff" anyone can give to a battle professor, hands down. (Reason: all spell damage you dish out is DOUBLED).

You forgot that after JT, the opponent gets pushed back.... so you immediatelyuse Fiber Lock and give him brutality with Fire Bolt or give him stone curse after which you lock him and give him a toast to fire attacks.

You can abuse the "Elemental Confusion" combo:

The only weakness of the Elemental Confusion thing is:

- You can only have 3~4 elements
- Holy Property players will get defense cause your element is Fire Water Wind and Earth. Easily remedied by using Cursed Water, Auto Bolt Element #1, Free Cast Element #2
- You must have Phen or your 2nd element will get cancelled.
- Takes up your whole arsenal

Fire-Earth-Wind-Water
Shadow-Ghost-Fire-Earth/Water/Wind/Fire

There are many possibilities to this combo.... use wisely.

so sad, baba ng hit rate ko T_T, and... d ko ma maximize yung Freecast. I could get it to Freecast 9 but Thunderstorm has a 2 second fixed aftercast delay (Heaven's drive only has 1sec). So hard to decide...

I would suggest always make your final str in multiples of 10, in this case make it 50.

IMO I like to get at least 50~70vit since your flee might not be enough to dodge attacks.

Why didn't you get Memorize, thats a very useful skill, you can always get lvl1 TS and drop HD and ES.

Dex is at minimal plausibility level, but at least you did good getting it to 50.

Vit is a little low for a pvp-oriented setting.

Let's see... with your agi and dex you get 33.55 weapon delay (result of calculations based on book's orig wpn delay of 55). Study 9 and Awakes give you a 80.5% aspd modifier, which together gives you 27 wpn delay—tantamount to 1.85 hits per second. Decent. With a staff, your attack frequency's 1.32 hits per second. Also fairly quick.

Str can be lowered. Above calculations don't even take Sage's Diary and other aspd bonuses into account. The aspd bonus of the SD isn't significant enough.

Thunderstorm has a 2 sec aftercast delay, while Heaven's Drive only has one sec aftercast delay


and Foresight might/would be updated with the autocast eating up the charges of Foresight

i thought VIT is bad when it comes to AB, thats why its only around 40 total, my headgears could be either Beret or E.Orc Hero Helm +Verit+pupa that already around... 10K+HP

i could further decrease STR to a 40 total [30+6+3+1], to go for VIT and DEX, physical atk dmg isnt really that high anyway XD

oh and there a slight mixup with the possible total, its as good as 110 INT with BofD and FAW, got to love FAW, it gives around 1~2 atk speed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
